Aerodynamics

Today I was learning about Aerodynamics. I learned about the four forces of flight. (Which are, Lift, Weight, Thrust, and Drag.) We also used jam board to make a synthesis on aerodynamics. We then had to make wings on tinker card for our 'rockets' that we make using plastic bottles. I need to work on using different shapes and sizes whilst making my wings. Next time I think I need to remember to put things into my own words do that it is easier for me to remember. In order to achieve this I need to read through the facts, and get the key words and put it in a basic sentence so I can remember. Overall I found this learning to be fun because I actually learned.

Newtons Third Law

This a little fact video/game I made based on 'Newtons Third Law'.

Q. How does a Rocket move?
A rocket moves by a gas that turns into heat, which pushes the rocket to move up into the air.
Q. What is Newtons Third Law?
Newtons Third Law is that "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction." Example: If I 'punched' someone in the face, they would react by moving back from the impact of the punch. (Not a good example, but it's just there for a example.)

Samoan Language Week 2020

This week is Samoan language week, today we got to dress up in our culture clothes. Since Samoan language week is the start of all pasifika language weeks, we got to wear our own culture clothes. So if we were Tongan it would be Tongan clothes, Samoan clothes, Niuean so on and so forth.

We had pop quiz challenges, singing challenges, dance challenges.

Song: Savalivali means go for a walk.
Dance: Sosomai (Dance challenge)

So for today, not only do we get to wear our pasifika clothes but we get to have chopsuey and rice to celebrate.

Have a great Samoan language week, Malo!

The Trip To The Marine Reserve

Hi and today I am going to be reflecting on rooms,9,5,6,2, and 8's trip to...

GOAT ISLAND !😱👍

On the 25th of November the rooms (that I mentioned) went on a trip to Goat Island. It took us at least two hours to actually get to our destination. We all sat in a little area and listen to the rules of the Marine Reserve. No feeding the fish, don't grab the animals etc. When it was my groups turn I learned how to get in the water with the flippers, how to breath (Through our mouths which is where the snorkel was) and how to snorkel. I learnt the different safety rules/ways to be safe. How to tell we were okay👌, how to get help but not urgent help👋, and how to signal someone for help if it was urgent👐. I learnt things about the whistle blows, like how if it was one whistle it meant stop✋look👀 and listen👍, three blows meant emergency and we had to get back to our original spot.

When I put my head in the water everything looked very beautiful. All the healthy kelp, the clear sea and the fishes we saw. We mostly saw snapper but that's okay. We each group of 4 people had 1 parent each, we had a man called Andy and we said, that we should keep our head in the water because then we would see very cool things.

If only they whole entire city could see this, then they would know how important saving the ocean and keeping it non polluted is. Because it is a very beautiful thing. #savetheseanz

Life in the Blue sea

Room 9 watched a little mini movie on the marine life, and we had to describe what it looked like and the animals in it.
